What is stress?

There are a myriad of reasons why we get stressed, but it is important to recognise that all stress is not distress. Stress is often the basis of motivation. In fact, it is measured as arousal or stimulation which is necessary to function at your best.

Stress is part of life and not necessarily a bad thing. However, if stress is long term it can affect you physically and emotionally.

Some researchers believe that long term stress is as unhealthy as smoking or having high cholesterol.

Stress can be a killer, but it can be managed and controlled. You can do a lot yourself as both traditional and complementary medicine can help enormously.
